All the students of NEL attended the lecture held by Jeongwon Park in July 2, 2019. Park professor come from Electrical and Biomedical Engineering, University of Nevada, Reno USA; School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Ottawa Canada. This talk presented the current status and possible future developments in the area of Internet-of-Thing (IoT) sensors, sensor networks for applications in the advanced manufacturing environment. After a brief introduction of the general IoT sensors, sensor networks for the application were discussed. The technical challenges of sensors were discussed. This talk introduced various technologies that are based on nanotechnology and was discussed possible applications with IoT sensors and sensor networks in the advanced manufacturing environment. In addition, traditional silicon-based devices were described and compared with more current nanotechnology-based devices (CNT, graphene, Ge, and III-V).
After the talk, three students ask JP professor some questions about the contact between channel and electrodes, how to apply the University of Navada and how the sensor applied into the 5G development. We all learned more about sensor and the OTFT contact.
