Congratulations to Kang Qi for publishing a paper entitled "Supercritical Removal Method: Rapid Elimination of Impurities in Polymethyl-methacrylate at Near Room Temperature and Mechanism Investigation of Insulating Property Improvement" in Journal of Materials Chemistry C

Introduction to the article: Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) has been widely used in the semiconductor field due to its excellent transparency and durability, but impurities generated during the polymerization process can cause leakage and are difficult to remove. In this paper, low-temperature supercritical CO2 fluid (NRT-SCF) treatment is used to purify PMMA and improve its insulating properties. After NRT-SCF treatment, the leakage current of the prepared device can be reduced by more than 10 times, and its capacitance becomes more stable. Based on material analysis, defects such as butyl acetate and benzoyl peroxide in PMMA films have been greatly reduced. The results of this study prove that supercritical CO2 fluid technology can greatly improve the insulation performance of PMMA and provide more potential applications for PMMA in wider fields.
